Ben Shipper joined HHBJS in 2023, during his ninth year of practice. Mr. Shipper’s practice specializes in business and employment litigation and counseling, with an emphasis on restrictive agreements, trade secret disputes, business torts, and prosecuting and defending against allegations of discrimination.

EXPERIENCE

Prior to joining HHBJS, Mr. Shipper worked for a large international law firm and a plaintiff’s employment and civil rights boutique. In these roles, Mr. Shipper had the opportunity to both represent and defend employers, employees, officers/directors, and public entities in a wide array of business and employment litigation, arbitration, and administrative proceedings, as well as in drafting, negotiating, and litigating commercial and employment contracts, including frequently obtaining injunctive relief against employees in violation of restrictive agreements. In addition, Mr. Shipper has experience representing automotive OEMs/suppliers, specialized vehicle manufacturers, and defense contractors in litigation involving IP, supply chain/contract issues, and liability resulting from vehicle quality testing.

While in law school, Mr. Shipper served as an Executive Editor of the Loyola University Chicago Law Journal, was President of the Business Law Society, and was a legal writing tutor for first-year law students.
